The following items were taken from Park Ridge police reports. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding
Park Ridge police received calls about a suspicious incident in which the driver of a white Volkswagen attempted to break into other vehicles in the 200 block of South Lincoln Avenue on Aug. 3 at 2:25 a.m. Responding officers located the Volkswagen and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled and committed other traffic violations. Park Ridge police ended their pursuit of the vehicle, but the vehicle was later found in Chicago.

Park Ridge police received calls of a suspicious incident of a Ford Taurus driver attempting to break into other vehicles in the area of Dee Road and Busse Highway on Aug. 3 at 3:53 a.m. Responding officers located the Taurus and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled and committed other traffic violations. Park Ridge police ended their pursuit of the vehicle.
Criminal Damage to Motor Vehicle
The owner of an Infiniti vehicle noticed the sunroof had been smashed and glass was scattered throughout the interior on Aug. 3 at 7:01 a.m. in the 700 block of Busse Highway.
An unknown offender dumped white paint onto the hood, windshield and passenger door of a victim’s black Toyota during the overnight hours of Aug. 5 in the 2400-2500 block of Talcott Road.
An unknown offender smashed the sunroof of a victim’s 2015 Infiniti QX60 in the 600-700 block of Vine Avenue on July 26.
Burglary to Motor Vehicle
On Ayg. 2, the owner of the 7-Eleven at 814 Higgins Rd. entered her store to call the police regarding an unknown male offender who was throwing garbage on the sidewalk in front of the store. When the store owner went to her unlocked vehicle, she discovered a bag containing cash and other items from the vehicle had gone missing at 2:04 p.m. Surveillance footage showed a second offender was also involved in the burglary and entered the store owner’s vehicle.
An unknown offender stole personal property from a 2016 Nissan Murano parked in the driveway of a residence in the 1700 block of South Clifton Avenue during the overnight hours of Aug. 2.
An unknown offender stole personal property from an unlocked 2024 Chevy Equinox in the 900 block of West Prairie Avenue during the overnight hours of Aug. 2. The missing property was located a few houses away.
An unknown offender stole personal property from a 2014 Mercedes Benz GLK 350, scattering the contents of the glovebox and center console during the overnight hours of Aug. 2 in the 1400 block of Garden Street.
An unknown offender stole personal property from an unlocked Jeep Compass during the overnight hours of Aug. 2 in the 1500-1600 block of Courtland Avenue. The missing items were found the next day scattered across the neighbor’s front lawn.
An unknown offender stole personal property from an unlocked Chevy Suburban in the 400-500 block of Home Avenue during the overnight hours of Aug. 4. The victim said the offender also stole a Trek bicycle from the backyard, valued at over $500.
An unknown offender stole personal property from an unlocked Jeep Grand Cherokee in the 1300-1400 block of Courtland Avenue on Aug. 7. Ring doorbell footage caught the incident.
An unknown offender stole personal property from an unlocked 2006 Mercedes Benz during the overnight hours of Aug. 7 in the 1200 block of Courtland Avenue.
Ring footage revealed an unknown offender stealing personal property from a 2018 Volkswagen on Aug. 7 at 1:30 a.m. in the 1500-1600 block of Prospect Avenue.
Theft over $500
An unknown offender was seen on surveillance footage stealing three bicycles from the side of a victim’s garage in the 500-600 block of Warren Avenue on Aug. 4 at 2:30 a.m. The victim later found the three bicycles stashed away in some bushes near Belle Plaine Avenue and Engel Boulevard.
Theft under $500
A victim’s wallet was stolen from a desk drawer at the Lutheran General Hospital Advanced Care Cancer Center at 1700 Luther Lane on Aug. 7 sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 12:35 p.m. It was later discovered that numerous credit cards were used at several locations.
Criminal Trespass
A Park Ridge police officer observed a 2020 GMC Terrain that appeared to have been rifled through on Aug. 3 at 4:51 a.m. in the 200 block of North Western Avenue. The officer contacted the vehicle owner, who said no property was taken from from the vehicle.
An unknown offender rummaged through a victim’s unlocked 2008 Lexus during the overnight hours of Aug. 2 in the 1700-1800 block of Marlow Avenue. Nothing was reported stolen.
A 27-year-old Chicago man was arrested for criminal trespass at 200 S. Vine Ave. on Aug. 9 at 4:23 p.m.
Violating an order of protection
A 34-year-old River Grove woman was arrested for violating an order of protection and on the issuance of three warrants in the 1300 block of Lois Avenue on Aug. 9 at 12:11 a.m.
Traffic violations
A 25-year-old Chicago man was arrested for driving without a license and a seat belt violation in the 900 block of West Touhy Avenue on Aug. 6 at 8:47 a.m.
A 26-year-old Chicago man was arrested for driving without a driver’s license and disregarding a traffic control device near the intersection of Summit Avenue and Ridge Terrace on Aug. 10 at 8:27 a.m.
A 41-year-old Chicago man was arrested for driving without a license and an electronic communication device violation near the intersection of Touhy Avenue and Washington Avenue on Aug. 11 at 5:05 p.m.
